Mercedes provides Russell with a health update after serious accident
Mercedes has provided an encouraging health update for George Russell following his major training accident at the Mexican Grand Prix.
At the start of FP2 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Russell hit the curb at Turn 9 and crashed into the TecPro barrier on the right at high speed, hitting him broadside.

Max Verstappen continued to have problems with his Red Bull during training for the Mexican Grand Prix and had to end 2nd FP early.
The reigning world champion’s FP1 session was marred by ground damage and then an engine problem, resulting in his session being ended early with six minutes to go.

Brown argues that the “pressure” of the stewards is behind the quick Norris penalty
McLaren CEO Zak Brown believes the stewards “felt some pressure” during last weekend’s United States Grand Prix to decide the outcome of the incident between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris on lap 52 before the end of the race.
Norris received a five-second time penalty in the final laps, dropping him from third to fourth after he was judged to have gained an advantage off the track.

Stake newcomer Robert Shwartzman has been handed a five-place grid penalty by the Mexican Grand Prix race stewards – despite not being a full-time F1 driver.
Shwartzman was in action for Zhou Guanyu at Sauber in the mandatory FP1 session and breached the yellow flags put in place for the incident between Ollie Bearman and Alex Albon, which ultimately triggered a red flag.
