It hasn’t been an easy time for the Liverpool loanee since he moved to Red Bull Salzburg on loan.
Stefan Bajcetic has joined the Austrian giants, who are in the midst of a major rebuilding project being carried out by former Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders.

Salzburg missed out on the league title last season for the first time in a decade. Lijnders’ goal alongside Bajcetic was to return the club to its former glory.
However, the Dutchman has not been able to do this so far.
Instead, Salzburg suffered embarrassing results in Europe and sit fourth in the Austrian Bundesliga, with Lijnders under pressure.

Stefan Bajcetic speaks out after Salzburg’s latest defeat
Bajcetic himself didn’t have an easy time breaking into the team. Since his arrival at the club, the Spanish U21 international has been on the substitutes’ bench in recent weeks.
He was a substitute in Salzburg’s last two Champions League games and was even relegated to the bench by Lijnders in the club’s last league game.
But in the games he did start, Bajcetic featured in a disappointing 5-0 defeat to title rivals Sturm Graz and a 3-0 defeat to Sparta Prague in the Champions League without even covering himself in glory.

And after attending Salzburg’s recent defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, Bajcetic took to his Instagram account to comment on the club’s “tough” result.
“This is hard to take, I’m concentrating on the weekend now,” he posted.
Since Bajcetic has just turned 20, he still has plenty of time to improve on his current form.
He is very highly regarded by Liverpool and it is an environment where he has a manager who knows him well and will trust him.
Since he missed more than a year of football between 2023 and 2024, his minutes will need to be carefully managed throughout the season.
The aim is for him to regain his playing strength and some confidence before returning to Anfield in the best possible condition.
However, to achieve the latter, Lijnders will have to turn things around very quickly. Well done, Jürgen Klopp will also be at his side when he takes up his new role at Red Bull in January.
